Select Visa Subclass
Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa
Expression of Interest (EOI) & State Nomination Guide
For points-tested visas (Subclasses 189, 190, and 491), you cannot lodge an application in ImmiAccount directly. You must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) via the Department of Home Affairs SkillSelect database, obtain a nomination (for 190 and 491), and receive an official Invitation to Apply (ITA).
What You Need to Fill Out the EOI
You must hold all credentials at the exact moment of EOI submission. Entering predicted test scores, estimated work experience, or pending assessment reference numbers constitutes fraud and leads to immediate visa refusal and a ban under PIC 4020.
1. Skills Assessment Details
A positive assessment in your nominated ANZSCO occupation is mandatory. You need to input:
- The official Assessing Authority (e.g., ACS, VETASSESS, Engineers Australia, TRA).
- The outcome date and reference number.
- The Deemed Skilled Date: The date from which your experience is officially recognized as skilled. (Do NOT claim points for work before this date).
2. English Language Test Results
Test must be less than 3 years old at the time of invitation. You need to enter:
- Test type (PTE Academic, IELTS, Cambridge C1).
- The Test Report Form (TRF) Number or Registration ID (for verification).
- The test date.
- Your exact scores for Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking to claim: Competent (0 pts), Proficient (10 pts), or Superior (20 pts).
3. Employment Details & Records
For each position you are claiming points for, you must enter:
- Exact start and end dates.
- Weekly working hours (must be 20+ hours/week).
- Company name, country, and regional postcode (if claiming regional points).
- Job titles and duties (which must align with your Reference Letters).
4. Qualifications & Education
All post-secondary credentials you wish to claim points for:
- Exact course start and end dates (as shown on your Course Completion Letter).
- Institution name, country, state, and campus postcode.
- Specialist educational qualification details (e.g. STEM research masters/PhD) if claiming +10 points.
