Check your visa before it expires
Know your visa status, expiry date and conditions. Check them on VEVO, the Government's free service, and act early to stay lawful.
Critical: check your visa before it expires
Your right to stay ends the day your visa ends. If you have not applied for a new visa or left by then, you become an unlawful non-citizen, which can put your future visas at risk. Check your status and expiry date on VEVO now, and act with weeks to spare, not the day before. This is general information, not personal advice.
How to check, in three steps
- Open the official VEVO check page and choose to check as a visa holder.
- Enter your passport or document number, date of birth, and a visa grant number or reference.
- Read your status, expiry date and conditions. You can also use the myVEVO app.
Who needs to check
Every temporary visa holder: students (500), graduates (485), visitors (600), regional (491 and 494), working holiday and bridging visa holders. Permanent residents and citizens do not need to.
